What is Lock Joint™ ?
The interlocking joint system especially designed for concrete that has many advantages.
- Very easy to install.
- Easy to handle. Made of rigid pvc, cuts easily with a hacksaw. No sharp metal edges to cause injury.
- Greatly reduces path maintenance costs.
- Smoother finish.
- Helps prevent lifting around trees, etc.
- Helps prevent sinking of concrete panels.
- No metal support pegs left in the concrete joint that stick into the ground to rust.
- Rubber cap (registered design) seals the top of the joint, preventing dust and sand from entering the joint, inhibiting weed growth.
- Rubber cap is permanently fixed to the top of the joint so it won’t come off during the concrete pour.
- Rubber cap is available in sandstone, terracotta, grey, cream and black to blend with coloured concrete finishes.
- Interlocking Lock Joint™ helps prevent one panel from lifting above the other.
- Its unique curved joint locks two concrete panels together resulting in a more even distribution of weight.
Ideally suited to large pavement areas, driveways, carparks, cycleways, paths and all types of concrete flooring.

The Benefits of Lock Joint™
Lock Joint was invented to improve the quality, safety and look of footpaths and cycleways. Paths incorporating Lock Joint have a smoother finish on the joins, making use by pedestrians and cyclists more comfortable and less hazardous. Use of Lock Joint also greatly reduces maintenance costs for Local Government Authorities.
Lock Joint is a unique control joint:
- Its patented, curved design interlocks the concrete panels, minimising the chance of one panel lifting above another.
- It gives joins better load bearing properties by virtue of its design in distributing weight.
- Its unique rubber capping (a registered design) seals the surface of the join – greatly minimising the chance of sand going into the join to sand-jack the path and also stops weeds from coming up.
- Installation is quick and easy.
- Installation of Lock Joint uses no metal pegs in the joint which would otherwise risk rust and concrete cancer of the path.
- It is cost effective – being less than half the price of other preformed jointing systems.
Lock Joint is available in 75mm, 100mm and 150mm.
